July 2012:

The VENTEON team is proud to demonstrate the world-wide first complete commercial OPCPA system: the VENTEON | PULSE : THREE OPCPA. As a leading expert in ultrashort pulse generation, VENTEON is now the first and only company which can supply a parametric amplifier as a complete system including Ti:sapphire front-end, pump stage and parametric amplifier stage.
This unique prototype system delivers an impressive compressed pulse energy of > 10 µJ at a repetition frequency of 200 kHz with pulse durations as short as 6.3 femtosecond. Due to its compact and well-designed setup, excellent stability and low rms noise could be achieved already in the prototype system. The OPCPA output pulses are CEP-stable with slow feedback providing an rms phase error of < 100 mrad. In combination with the high energy and repetition rate, ultrashort pulse durations it is therefore an ideal source for nonlinear spectroscopy or high-harmonic generation and attosecond science.

March 2012:

The CLEO 2012 co-sponsors (APS, IEEE Photonics Society, OSA) and Laser Focus World announced BioPhotonic Solutions, Inc. in close partnership with VENTEON Laser Technologies as the winner of this year's CLEO/Laser Focus World Innovation Award. The award recognizes "the development of femtoAdaptiv: the first ultrafast laser capable of adaptive pulse self-compression that delivers ultrashort (sub-10 fs) pulses at the focal plane of a microscope objective." BioPhotonic Solutions, Inc. will accept the award at the CLEO Plenary Session Tuesday, May 8 at 8 a.m. in the San Jose Civic Auditorium at CLEO.

Since multiphoton microscopy was first demonstrated in 1990, it has been known that lasers with shorter pulses yield brighter images and cause less thermal damage; however, laser companies are yet to produce a source capable of delivering ultrashort (sub-10 fs) transform limited laser pulses at the focal plane of a microscope objective. Ideally, a stable broadband laser source would need to be seamlessly coupled to a computer controller that automatically measures and pre-chirps the output to deliver transform-limited pulses at the microscope imaging plane. To address this, BioPhotonic Solutions, Inc., in close partnership with VENTEON Laser Technologies GmbH, developed femtoAdaptiv, the first ultrafast laser capable of adaptive pulse self- compression.

January 2012:

Powered by a VENTEON | PULSE : ONE BASIC laser system, Biophotonic Solutions, Inc. (BSI) showed a live automated pulse compression of the VENTEON femtosecond laser output down to sub-5fs at the Photonics West trade show in San Francisco.
The system operated flawlessly for three days in a row! This level of performance is unprecedented in a laser show environment. BSI's MIIPS® Box 640 pulse shaper compressed the output pulses of the VENTEON oscillator to their transform limit within less than two minutes. The demonstrated system can function as a tunable source of transform limited pulses for two-photon microscopy (from 650 to 1100 nm, without moving parts), can be used for CARS imaging, or as a seed for ultrashort pulse amplification as required by laser sources used for attosecond research.
