About Us - Company History

VENTEON Laser Technologies GmbH was founded in 2008 and resumes the successful VENTEON femtosecond laser branch of Nanolayers Optical Coatings GmbH as an independent company. The new product portfolio covers leading-edge femtosecond laser oscillators, few-cycle pulse characterization tools, ultrafast optics, accessories and custom-designed solutions.

The VENTEON product line exclusively features Nanolayers NANEO optics such as octave-spanning dispersion compensating mirror pairs and broadband dispersion balanced beamsplitters, manufactured with Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS) for superior performance and recognized as a market leader in the ultrafast optics community. These optics are distributed exclusively by VENTEON Laser Technologies together with a comprehensive consulting and service.

This synergy combined with the expertise in ultrafast physics enables VENTEON Laser Technologies to offer not only high performance products but overall solutions in ultrafast applications ranging from generation and characterization of femtosecond pulses, pulse compression products and consulting as well as amplification and special custom-designed implementations to satisfy your needs!

Company History:

- 1998:  Foundation of Nanolayers Optical Coatings GmbH by Dr. Volker Scheuer and Dr. Gregor Angelow
- 1998 - 2001: Start of production with a research optical coating machine, development of the new IBS machine
- 2003: Business expansion: development and production of ultrafast optical systems,
Cooperation with Prof. Dr. Franz Kaertners Group @ the Research laboratory of Electronics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technologies (MIT), Cambridge, US.
- 2004: First ultrafast laser system VENTEON | PULSE : ONE on the market
- 2005: Development of further ultrafast laser systems and technologies
- 2006: Cooperation with MIT ends
Cooperation with Prof. Dr. Uwe Morgners group at the Institute of Quantum Optics @ the Leibniz Universität Hannover starts.
- 2007:  Dr. Thomas Binhammer takes responsibility for laser business for Nanolayers.
Development of a custom-designed femtosecond amplifier.
- 2008:   The VENTEON department of Nanolayers is transferred into an independent company spezialized in femtosecond laser technology, the VENTEON Laser Technologies GmbH with CEO Dr. Thomas Binhammer. Co-founders are Prof. Dr. Uwe Morgner and Dr. Stefan Rausch.
